About Isaiah 53 Design
Isaiah 53 Design started in 2016 when my neighbor called with a problem.
"Rebekah, the startup I'm working for needs an editor. Would you be interested?"
I jumped at the chance to make some money doing something besides ghostwriting, even though editing can be just as tedious. But when I saw the lack of design on the flyers, I asked the company president if he would mind me trying to improve their graphics as well as their copy.
He was savvy enough to be hesitant, yet kind enough to give me a chance. Within three months, I had created every piece of his advertising as well as his website, and I giggled that I was actually pretending to be a graphic designer.
Then the bombshell.
"Rebekah, we've hired a top Nashville marketing firm, and we'll be meeting with them for a three hour strategy session as they look at what you've done and give us direction."
The meeting was $675, and I would have to go in person as they exposed me for a fraud -- the homeschool mom posing as a legit graphic designer. I was sick.
Except the meeting went amazing.
They didn't say a word about my sixth grade son coming along with me for moral support; I think they offered him a coke and me a coffee. I didn't dare--I'd have sloshed it. So nervous.
But in the end, they actually liked what I had done. They did tell me drop shadows were out, which was good to know (and someone had already warned me about), but all in all, they gave my work a big stamp of approval.
My boss was happy, and I realized I was now a legit graphic designer.
The legit designers at DVL Seigenthaler said so.

Marketing
From developing graphics to directing marketing campaigns, my tenure with this first client grew me far more than it grew his business, which turned out to grow beyond 70 employees and generate multi-million dollar revenue, not to mention provide expert care for clients.

Video Documentary
During the lockdown, my friend Val Shepard had a speaking engagement go from in-person to pre-recorded. God blessed me to be the person recording on the other end of Zoom, and after adding these precious photos to the project, it's available for the conference attendees--and you--to enjoy!
I highly recommend Rebekah Dorris’s work. Her artwork and commitment to Christ is excellent, and worthy of use. She is a humble follower of Jesus Christ, and I honor her for her example of godliness and thirst for honoring our Lord!

Church History Wall
For their anniversary and for their new building, a church wanted a series of panels illustrating their history for future generations. This was one of my favorite projects for so many reasons. What an honor.

Lyric Video
Music legends Steve & Annie Chapman asked me to create lyric videos as a gift to their daughter who's also a recording artist (as well as visual artist). This was another favorite project, because I've been a fan of theirs for decades. What a lovely couple, as evidenced by the beauty in their daughter's music.
